Baptism in War-Torn Ukraine: Nika’s Journey to Faith

God is faithful. He hears every prayer and answers in His perfect time.

“Lord, please, let me see when a person who is born from above become a faithful minister of You”

Some time ago I have been praying this prayer and now I can see that God has answered it as Nika accepted Christ, was baptised and continues to grow as a leader in our team. Praise the Lord. This August we were delighted to share this joy with the church and the team

Adapted to the new realities

Since the full-scale invasion started in Ukraine our team needed to learn how to adapt to constantly changing obstacles. It’s been a year and a half since then and I can see that we have become more flexible and adaptive in our ministry due to the missile and drone strikes, blackouts and distant studies at some universities.
However, in August we had to have a big national Cru conference and evangelism in Odessa but due to the termination of the Grain Agreement by russia, Odessa was hit much harder that it was. One of the worst attacks happened just before the conference and it was cancelled and transferred to another safer region close to Carpathian mountains.

Life of my Family in Ukraine

I had a chance to visit my Dad in Odessa and I was really shocked by the amount of missiles, drones that tried to hit Odessa. I had no time to even take my kids to the corridor (which is a safer place during air alarms) because the missile already hit after 1,5 minutes.

My Mom lives in Kyiv and she says that if she wont be a believer she would not stay in Kyiv because of every night missile and drone strikes and explosions. When I visited my relatives in Kyiv it happened that it was a night with a most massive drone attacks on Ukraine and it was quite an experience for me.

Everything is known in comparison and I thank God that in our Rivne region it is more calm and safer for now and my children do not have to wake up every night trying to sleep in the corridor or in wardrobe as my nephews do in Kyiv.

My father and my sister with my children in Odessa. We used to visit Dad and go to swim but now the black sea in Odessa is forbidden for swimming as the sea and beaches are mined
