What is the Best Investment In World Missions?

Leaders.

High impact non-profits have strong leaders. But they must be trained.

Developing leaders is the best investment. Resources are good, but they are not enough. Finances are helpful but cannot buy success toward the mission. Leaders make the difference!

Where tools, resources, strategies, people, finances lack, leaders fill the gap. They find all these and align them toward the mission. Investing in the development of leaders is the best investment.

Leadership is an art and a skill. It can be learned. It can be taught. But few organizations, churches, businesses intentionally invest in building leaders. It is the X-factor in any organization, the difference maker. And this is where I want to invest.

I am making big plans for 2024 to invest in leaders. All around the world there are emerging leaders who are sharing the gospel, planting new churches, starting youth and college ministries, building orphanages, and rescuing people out of sex trafficking rings and more. They are the first responders for a world in need. But they need our investment. More than money and tools, they need us to invest in their growth as leaders.

So how are we doing this? Here are two places to start.

International Leadership Institute – This organization is training leaders in more than 200 countries in 8 core leadership values. The results speak for themselves. And their impact is significant. See for yourself.

Storyline Seminar – This training delivers 10 Core concepts of leadership for churches and mission organizations. It is specifically designed for emerging leaders who do cross cultural work. We are seeing huge impact with this training around the world. Leaders are being developed and they are moving out with purpose and vision. It’s very exciting.

More staff and resources is not the answer. Its all about leaders. But this takes effort. It’s the best investment. Jesus took a group of fisherman and misfits and turned them into world changers. It took time, many lessons and many failures. But the results impacted world history.
